The Confucius Institute organizes activities at Dix30

Date: February 15, 2016

To mark the start of the Year of the Monkey (February 8), the Confucius Institute in Quebec organized a series of activities to celebrate the Chinese Spring Festival in association with the DIX30 shopping center on the South Shore of Montreal.

Activities focused on Chinese traditions, such as calligraphy, papercut, dragon and lion acrobatics and were presented at Dix30 over the course of two weekends. Hundreds of spectators of all ages and cultures were attracted by these activities, especially the calligraphy table. Every day, fans of Chinese culture gathered to explore the mystery of Chinese calligraphy, drawn by the calm atmosphere and the soothing black and white characters. Many of them developed great interest and immediately wanted to register at the Confucius Institute in Quebec to learn Chinese language and drawing!

We hope that, over time, the seeds of interest implanted in the hearts of Canadians will grow to become a beautiful flower symbolizing the encounter of these two cultures.
