Advanced knowledge of Chinese and fluent knowledge of English or French
Course description:
The Certificate in teaching Chinese Language (Teaching Methodology for CSL Teachers).

This course is designed to equip participants with the framework and skills to teach Chinese as a second language. The participants will learn to synergize the various pedagogic strategies in order to suit specific teaching objectives.

At the end of the course, students who have successfully completed all subject will be awarded:

  1. “Certificate in Teaching Chinese Language” from the Confucius Institute in Quebec;

  2. “Certificate in Teaching Chinese Language” from Beijing Normal University, China.

Advanced Level 5

Prerequisites:
Level 5A: Completed Chinese Advanced Level 4B or 600 hours of previous instruction or equivalent knowledge
Level 5B: Completed Chinese Advanced Level 5A or 630 hours of previous instruction or equivalent knowledge
Course description:

  1. Learning intermediate-high level of grammar challenging structures

  2. Strengthen writing of description, supporting and debating skills

  3. Developing oral presentation using higher level vocabulary expressions

  4. Target HSK test level four or higher.

  1. Review the basic strokes of Chinese characters

  2. The radicals of characters

  3. The structural levels of characters

  4. The modification of the Horizontal and Right-Falling strokes
